The Girls’ Brigade is a Christian uniformed organisation, international and interdenominational.
The AIM is – To help girls become followers of the Lord Jesus Christ, and through self-control, reverence and a sense of responsibility, to find true enrichment of life.
The MOTTO is – Seek, Serve, and follow Christ.
All girls are divided into different sections according to their age.Explorers P1 to P3, Juniors P4 to P7, Brigaders S1 to S6. Company activities for all sections are based on the four-fold programme – Spiritual, Physical, Educational and Service.
Girls are taught how to combine a sense of fun with a sense of responsibility, always underpinned by a deepening knowledge of God.
The 1st Helensburgh Girls’ Brigade meet every Friday night in Helensburgh Parish Church Halls, Colquhoun Street at 7 p.m. This organisation is for girls from Primary 1 up to S6. Please come along any Friday night and join us.
1st Helensburgh Girls’ Brigade would like to thank Helensburgh Boys’ Brigade for inviting us along on the trip to the Tall Ship and Transport Museum. The girls had a great time. Thank you to the organisers and to Sherrill and Shanny for helping us.
Here are some photos of an Explorer reading her Gideon’s Girls’ Brigade bible on the train, the Explorers entertaining Nelson at the station and the Brigaders waiting “patiently” for the train.
